Beto Bob is a singer-songwriter that was born and raised in San Jose de Mayo, Uruguay. Growing up, he was fortunate enough to be able to go to piano and drum lessons from a young age, despite his family living in a poverty-stricken country. His father was in a folk band which became very popular back in the late 60s in his home town. Today his father has a radio show and a TV program which he presents alongside his mother weekdays in San Jose.
In 2001 Beto Bob took the decision to sell all of his belongings and move to Europe, where he found himself in Spain on the Costa Blanca. In 2003 he found a little town called Benidorm where he was able to start to make a living as a full time professional musician. Since being in Europe, he has had the privilege to have played alongside many international artists which include Bob Dylan, The Platters, Wanda Jackson and The Scorpions.
Beto Bob was the lead guitarist and frontman in the band Euro Pink Floyd, a band which later decided they wanted to stop performing. This left Beto still wanting to play live shows in theatres, expressing his love for the legendary British band’s masterpieces, which is why he therefore created the band Bob Floyd. With Bob Floyd he has had the privilege to play in more historical venues such as The Cavern Club in Liverpool, The Water Rats in London and Lindos Rock Festival in Rhodes.
Although playing in a tribute band, Beto Bob now wants to go further in his music career and release music that he has been recording for the past 30 years, from when he was even still living in Uruguay. In February 2022 he released his first single “On the other Side” which was a tribute to the people suffering in the war between Russia and Ukraine. This then lead onto the Sound Music Awards in Liverpool reaching out to him, which he is very grateful for. Throughout 2022, Beto Bob started going to the Monday Club in the Cavern Pub with Ian Prowse, which encouraged him to release more music. In doing so, come May 2022 he did so with his second single “Blue Bubble Paradise”.
In 2023 he hopes to release more music and hopefully the full album as he has been overwhelmed by the response of the public towards his music. You can still find him sometimes playing in Spain, but he finds himself mainly touring with the band.
